Tawanna Benbow is a Thespian, Mythologist and Cultivator of people. She is a Doctoral Candidate in Mythological Studies with an emphasis in Depth Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute she currently working on her production style dissertation "Sanctified Passion: A Mythodrama of Mary Magdalene". She has obtained her Masters (MA) in the dual degree program; she has a Masters of Arts in Theology (MAT) with an emphasis in Theology & Arts from Fuller Theological Seminary; received her Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Acting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City; and her Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) with a concentration in Acting/Directing from North Carolina A&T State University; and is currently becoming a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) with the North American Drama Therapy Association. She lived in New York where she pursued her acting career prior to relocating to Los Angeles. Tawanna has film and television credits; and has acted in numerous plays and performed at several regional theatre companies. Tawanna is creating a new approach to contribute to the field of Dramatherapy called mythodrama. Her therapeutic methodology uses theology, mythology, depth psychology and theatre as a collective means to aid in this unique process. Tawanna has a dedication to people and a passion to see souls healed and whole – no one should walk around wounded or with trauma.
