Robin Hawley Gorsline, 71, is a former many things—including MCC pastor for 10 years in Richmond, VA and non-profit leader in several locations—who is now engaged in writing Queer theology and poetry. Robin had an encounter with trees at 10,000 feet in Yosemite National Park several years that led them/him to finally claim a vocation of writing and he/they are learning how to work for themselves/himself in creative endeavors. Robin is passionate about Queer lives and bodies, anti-white supremacy, embodied wholeness for all creatures, and the intimate connection of sex and spirit. Robin is the co-author, with Malachi Grennell, of the blog, SexBodiesSpirit, as well as the sole author of the blog, TheNakedTheologian, and is revising their doctoral dissertation (Union Theological Seminary) focusing on the beauty, value, and power of darkness in the writings of James Baldwin and Audre Lorde. Robin writes poetry responding to many prompts—current events, personal history, struggles for justice, sex and nudity, nature (especially trees) and the Revised Common Lectionary used by many Christian churches. Robin also is beginning to engage in life modeling in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area, where he/they live with Dr. Jonathan Lebolt, a psychoanalysis in private practice, and Cocoa, their 8-year-old standard Poodle. Robin is the parent of three incredible daughters and adores three sons-in-law and two gorgeous granddaughters. Robin is a cis-gender male whose preferred pronouns are he/him/his and they/them/theirs (leaning more lately to the latter).
