Lis Valle is an eternal student, teatrera, preacher and educator. I am a PhD candidate in Homiletics and Liturgics at Vanderbilt University. My research interests lie at the intersection of preaching, worship, performing arts, and gender and sexuality justice. Right now I am writing my dissertation about prophetic performance and disruptive preaching. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, “La Isla del Encanto.” My friends describe me as a creative preacher. I have served as teacher, lawyer, theater director and producer, actress, Christian education writer, stewardship educator, event planner, manager and workshop leader in acting, liturgical dance, and Christian Education. I moved to the continental United States in 2008 and have lived in Kentucky, New Jersey, and Tennessee.
