Emily is a writer, improviser, and comedian living in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, she is a graduate of the University of Virginia. In order to cope with an after-college day job that had no windows and no future, she took an improv class and immediately fell in love. Emily soon made her way to New York City to take more classes. She is the writer and producer of the comedic play, Basic Bitch of the Resistance, a show that explores white privilege and social activism through the lens of comedy and storytelling. She works with really great people at two non-profits, Stand Up America and The Economic Security Project. Emily currently lives in community among young Buddhists and non-Buddhists practicing mindful living.
